Blast from the past (My Eurodance playlist)

I was listening to a music programme the other day and it was all about Eurodance music.

Eurodance is a genre of electronic music that originated in the late 1980’s in Europe (obviously…)!

I’m a big fan of this genre of music and it’s a massive part of who I am!

Growing up in Manchester, England, I listened to this music all the time! On MTV – when they actually played music, on the radio (shout out to Key 103!!!), on the school bus, at parties, at the shops and so on.

I decided to share a few of my fave songs of this genre, hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

(I got a bit too excited and posted a lot of songs, I know I missed out a few, but if I actually put all the 90’s tunes I listened to back then, you guys wouldn’t be going out this weekend.)

Happy 30 year anniversary, Back to the Future!

On a day like today but in 1985, Back to the Future was released.

Back to the Future is a CLASSIC science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by Bob Gale and Zemeckis, produced by Steven Spielberg, starring Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox, Crispin Glover, amongst others.

Marty McFly – bliss surname – (Fox) was sent back in time to 1955, he meets his future parents at high school and accidentally becomes his mums romantic interest… As a sum of all this, Marty must make his parents to be fall in love, this is where Doc (Lloyd) comes into the story. Lloyd is an electric scientist and he is the one to help Marty try and return to 1985 again.

As it’s Back to the Future’s 30 year anniversary, I’d like to share a few songs and performances from the iconic movie.

Huey Lewis & The News – The Power of Love

Eric Clapton – Heaven is One Step Away

Lindsey Buckingham – Time Bomb Time

Track of the day

Dance-pop duo, The Shapeshifters are from London and have been on the radar since 2004.

Simon and Max are best known for their #1 single Lola’s Theme which was inspired by Simon’s wife, Lola.

In the US they’re known as Shape:UK due to a conflict with a LA based hip-hop band, Shape Shifters. Goes to say, anything the guys release outside the US, they use their original name The Shapeshifters.
