Part 1 of… I don’t know how many posts this is going to take me.

It’s been a while since I last wrote… A few days, weeks, months… I’ve been out of it.

My emotions, feelings, thoughts, ideas, took a hold on me.

I have no idea how many people read this, what country you are in, where you are, what you’re doing, what you’re feeling at this very moment, but what I do know, is what I’m feeling at this very moment and I’d like to share a piece of me with you today.

This year has been intense. I’d sum it up as a huge, massive, wake up call. That’s how I feel and perceive the energy at this very moment. Today, Friday 30th December at 12:12pm whilst I’m sat on my brown sofa at my place whilst listening to The Verve.

I’ve got this weird feeling. Goosebumps, I’m sweating but my hands are freezing cold and my body is telling me something… I’m breathing in and out heavily… I’ve got so much to write and stuff I want to share and express, I don’t even know where (I got interrupted exactly here with a phone call I had to answer) to begin.

I remember once telling a friend, a dear friend, who I don’t speak to much anymore, a boy, a friend, that well, we parted ways due to life, but I remember telling him I wanted to write a book, but hadn’t started writing because I didn’t know where to begin… which he answered “just write, there’s no specific place, or way to begin something, just do it” – so I’ll take his advice to start now… Wow… I’m laughing and crying at this very moment (Sonnet is playing in the background)…

Breathe in… Breathe out.

I can’t remember much of this year, I’ve stored a lot of memories, emotions and feelings in different boxes in my head, but I want to begin with the following…

On April 24th 2016 I went to a festival here in Mexico City called Vive Latino. I was working so I didn’t see many bands play, I saw a song or two of a few artists, but I did get the chance to see a band play from beginning to end… That band was The Prodigy.

– I had to take a deep breath after writing that last paragraph –

So, I saw The Prodigy for the first time, live, on Sunday 24th April 2016.

I would say that every single day my life changes, I learn something, feel something new, experiment, and so on… but that Sunday will remain within me FOREVER.

I don’t even know what to write regarding what I saw and felt that day, but what I can say, is that my life changed drastically whilst experiencing and witnessing The Prodigy perform that Sunday…

I was totally sober… I had half a beer since I arrived at the festival (1:oopm) until the time I saw The Prodigy.

What I’m trying to say is… that what I felt and saw was completely real, Nicole experienced the whole situation being Nicole.

Wow.

After that… I couldn’t sleep properly.

I thought that writing all this out would be a lot easier than what it’s actually turning out to be…

I’m going to take a break and I’ll be back in a little while.

Nick Murphy is/was Chet Faker and he’s back

In September, Chet Faker announced that his next record would be released under his birth name Nick Murphy. He said the following: “It’s been half a decade since I started releasing music as Chet Faker and all of you have been the driving force behind the music since. There’s an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where its going. The next record will be under my own name, Nick Murphy. Chet Faker will always be a part of the music. This is next”.

The 28 year old Australian electronica singer and musician released his studio album Built on Glass back in 2014 with tunes such as Talk is Cheap and 1998 (As Chet Faker).

This 2016, the Aussie came back as Nick Murphy and has brought out a few tunes heres and there.

Check out Nick’s Stop Me (Stop You), released a few hours ago, here!

Running Out Of Love is the bands 4th studio album and it talks a bit about life in Sweden and how this year things are moving in the incorrect direction; politically, intellectually and morally. The problems and situations the boys sing about aren’t necessarily just “apt” for Sweden but for countries all around the world.

The album was released on the 21st October and has 10 absolutely stunning songs on it.

Have a listen to We Got Game, one of the singles the band released off the new album a few weeks ago.

Melanie C is back after 4 years with a new album!

Melanie C’s (better known as Mel C and/or Sporty Spice – well, at least by me – ) seventh studio album is out today.

Anyone was the first and lead single off Version of Me.

Being such a massive Spice Girls fan as a kid, I followed Mel C’s path after their break up.

She had a few fantastic tunes (in my opinion) such as Never Be The Same Again and When You’re Gone with Bryan Adams – MASSIVE FAN OF THAT TUNE!!!

Version of Me is basically a pop album, and I’ve heard it form A to Z – considering the fact it came out today and it’s only 11:03am in Mexico City (where I am), I’m VERY impressed!

The album has 11 songs on it and I wish Mel the best in the world with it.

(You can buy it digitally, physically, or listen to it on Spotify!)

Caleb from Kings of Leon is a lot more than just a pretty and talented boy

Frontman and guitar player of Kings of LeonCaleb – is a very attractive and talented man, but, in their latest video Walls you can see way beyond all of that.

At the beginning of the video, you can see Caleb from a far sat on a chair playing his guitar, as the song advances, so does the camera… I don’t want to spoil it for you… So, please have a look at the video and watch it until the very end.

I personally loved the song, and the video is perfect for it. Very relaxing yet extremely deep.

Warning: I got goosebumps…

Nuevo video de fLIP Tamez

He tenido la oportunidad de conocer a fLIP Tamez en dos ocasiones; una, cuando entreviste a Jumbo, y otra cuando entreviste a fLIP solo.

fLIP y yo – no es la mejor foto, but at least we captured the moment!

Have a listen to The Strokes new material, here!

About 2 years ago I got the chance to interview Julian Casablancas with his band Julian Casabalancas + the Voidz.

I must say, interviewing Julian and the boys is definitely in my Top 5 interviews!

Well, Julian is also the frontman of one of the most important rock bands of my era, I’m talking about The Strokes.

Today I’m in a Soundgarden kind of mood

Today is one of those days where I’m extremely thankful.

Screen Shot 2016-04-01 at 2.12.56 PM

I’m thankful for the difficult people that were put into my life, thanks to you, I realised exactly what I don’t want or deserve.

I’m thankful for the hard times, because I realised that I can get through them.

I’m thankful for those who respect me and accept me, exactly how I am.

I’m thankful for my incredible instinct, without you, I’d be lost.

I’m thankful for being blessed with the meaning of the word “understanding”. The more I understand, the less I understand.

I’m thankful for your love, positive vibes and good energy. And I wish each and everyone of you the best in the world.

It’s up to YOU and YOU only to decide what you want and deserve…

Soundgarden – Burden in my Hand

This is what Chris Cornell had to say about the meaning of the song:

“That was a song that really came from the guitar itself. It was mostly like the guitar was dictating what the lyrics should be and creating a mental image. The mental image was this sort of destitute guy. I guess he’d lost his cool if you want to put it that way. He’s sort of coming to grips with what had happened and not necessarily feeling particularly emotional about it either way. He’s trying to figure out how he would stand up and put one foot in front of the other—or not—and the song never really resolves any of that. It’s just that moment of somebody sitting in the dirt. I had more moments like that after that song was written than I ever had before it was, so it means a lot more to me now than it did then.”
