Take the time to Waste a Moment with the Kings of Leon

A few hours ago, the very talented (and fit) 4 piece rock band Kings of Leon released their latest tune Waste a Moment.

Waste a Moment is the first single off their upcoming album WALLS (out on the 14 October).

Random fact that I had no idea about until TODAY: Caleb, Nathan and Jared are brothers, Matthew is their cousin.

As always, the boys nailed it to a T. Both the song and video are ace.

On a day like today…

On a day like today but in 1994, The Notorious B.I.G released his debut album Ready To Die.

Biggie, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, passed away at the age of 24 and is known as one of the most influential rappers of all time.

Ready To Die has a remarkable 17 songs on it including Respect, Ready To Die, Unbelievable and Friend of Mine.

RIP and long live Hip Hop!

Today, back in 2006…

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since one of my fave solo artists brought out his second studio album.

justin justintimberlake album music pop artist

I’m talking about Justin Timberlake and his album FutureSex/LoveSounds.

I discovered JT when N*Sync became well known – (OVER 16 YEARS AGO) in the 90’s! I know he was part of the Disney crew alongside Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and many others, but I had no idea of his existence back then.

One of my favourite albums (top 30) is Justin’s first studio album Justified.

Anyways, FutureSex/LoveSounds came out today, 10 years ago.

Here’s my top track off the album.

Losing My Way.

After an intense summer, I’m back.

This is the first time I post something in nearly two months!

A lot has gone on… I hope to open up and share a lot of what happened over my summer with you all, but I respect my mind and it’s emotions, and now isn’t the time.

Everything is great, actually, I’m the best I’ve been in a while. But I saw and experienced, lived, thought, felt so much, and still haven’t processed it all.

So, I put this playlist together for my comeback.

There’s a mix and match of stuff, no specific order, just songs that have been on my mind for a while and I wanted to share with you.

About 2 years ago I got the chance to interview Julian Casablancas with his band Julian Casabalancas + the Voidz.

I must say, interviewing Julian and the boys is definitely in my Top 5 interviews!

Well, Julian is also the frontman of one of the most important rock bands of my era, I’m talking about The Strokes.

One of my favourite feelings in the world is discovering new sounds and music: St. Paul and The Broken Bones

St. Paul and The Broken Bones are a 6 piece soul band from Birmingham, Alabama, USA formed in 2012.

The band have released two EP’s and in February 2014, the band released their first album called Half The City.

Call Me (off Half The City)

Paul, Jesse, Browan, Andrew, Al and Allen will release their second studio album Sea of Noise in September.

The upcoming album is a mix of old R&B, soul, funk and rock.

I mean, with that description of sound and after the stuff I’ve heard from the Alabama based band, I can honestly say that Sea of Noise is going to be mental.

Check out the trailer for Sea of Noise, here!

Laura Mvula is back!

British soul singer and songwriter Laura Mvula from Birmingham released her debut album Sing to the Moon in 2013.

In March 2014, Mvula re-recorded an orchestral version of her debut album in collaboration with the Metropole Orkest and conducted by Jules Buckley.

Laura’s second album The Dreaming Room will be released in a few days… Ready for this??? June 17 2016!!!

Since hearing her back in 2013, I fell for her vibe. You might remember Green Garden? <3

Laura once mentioned that her influences include Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

Phenomenal Woman is the second song we’ve heard off Mvula’s upcoming album.
