Part 1 of… I don’t know how many posts this is going to take me.

It’s been a while since I last wrote… A few days, weeks, months… I’ve been out of it.

My emotions, feelings, thoughts, ideas, took a hold on me.

I have no idea how many people read this, what country you are in, where you are, what you’re doing, what you’re feeling at this very moment, but what I do know, is what I’m feeling at this very moment and I’d like to share a piece of me with you today.

This year has been intense. I’d sum it up as a huge, massive, wake up call. That’s how I feel and perceive the energy at this very moment. Today, Friday 30th December at 12:12pm whilst I’m sat on my brown sofa at my place whilst listening to The Verve.

I’ve got this weird feeling. Goosebumps, I’m sweating but my hands are freezing cold and my body is telling me something… I’m breathing in and out heavily… I’ve got so much to write and stuff I want to share and express, I don’t even know where (I got interrupted exactly here with a phone call I had to answer) to begin.

I remember once telling a friend, a dear friend, who I don’t speak to much anymore, a boy, a friend, that well, we parted ways due to life, but I remember telling him I wanted to write a book, but hadn’t started writing because I didn’t know where to begin… which he answered “just write, there’s no specific place, or way to begin something, just do it” – so I’ll take his advice to start now… Wow… I’m laughing and crying at this very moment (Sonnet is playing in the background)…

Breathe in… Breathe out.

I can’t remember much of this year, I’ve stored a lot of memories, emotions and feelings in different boxes in my head, but I want to begin with the following…

On April 24th 2016 I went to a festival here in Mexico City called Vive Latino. I was working so I didn’t see many bands play, I saw a song or two of a few artists, but I did get the chance to see a band play from beginning to end… That band was The Prodigy.

– I had to take a deep breath after writing that last paragraph –

So, I saw The Prodigy for the first time, live, on Sunday 24th April 2016.

I would say that every single day my life changes, I learn something, feel something new, experiment, and so on… but that Sunday will remain within me FOREVER.

I don’t even know what to write regarding what I saw and felt that day, but what I can say, is that my life changed drastically whilst experiencing and witnessing The Prodigy perform that Sunday…

I was totally sober… I had half a beer since I arrived at the festival (1:oopm) until the time I saw The Prodigy.

What I’m trying to say is… that what I felt and saw was completely real, Nicole experienced the whole situation being Nicole.

Wow.

After that… I couldn’t sleep properly.

I thought that writing all this out would be a lot easier than what it’s actually turning out to be…

I’m going to take a break and I’ll be back in a little while.

Nick Murphy is/was Chet Faker and he’s back

In September, Chet Faker announced that his next record would be released under his birth name Nick Murphy. He said the following: “It’s been half a decade since I started releasing music as Chet Faker and all of you have been the driving force behind the music since. There’s an evolution happening and I wanted to let you know where its going. The next record will be under my own name, Nick Murphy. Chet Faker will always be a part of the music. This is next”.

Running Out Of Love is the bands 4th studio album and it talks a bit about life in Sweden and how this year things are moving in the incorrect direction; politically, intellectually and morally. The problems and situations the boys sing about aren’t necessarily just “apt” for Sweden but for countries all around the world.

The album was released on the 21st October and has 10 absolutely stunning songs on it.

Have a listen to We Got Game, one of the singles the band released off the new album a few weeks ago.

About 2 years ago I got the chance to interview Julian Casablancas with his band Julian Casabalancas + the Voidz.

I must say, interviewing Julian and the boys is definitely in my Top 5 interviews!

Well, Julian is also the frontman of one of the most important rock bands of my era, I’m talking about The Strokes.

Karma Kid releases new track with Aminé

Sam Knowles AKA Karma Kid is a 21 year old Brit electronic dance music record producer and DJ.

I had the chance to hang out and meet Karma Kid a few months ago in Mexico when he came to DJ at a festival in Morelos.

This might sound cringe, but, apart from Sam being a really talented, passionate and hard worker, he’s really sweet and deep.

Love meeting people like that!

Check out his latest track called Thru The Tundra ft. Aminé, here!

The rumours are true!!!

All the rumours we’ve been hearing since last November are TRUE!

The Stone Roses are releasing a new single tonight at 8pm! (UK time, Mexico City 2pm)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Mancunian band will be playing in Manchester, at T in the Park, Ireland and in New York this June and are playing at a few festivals here and there.

I’m a MASSIVE Stone Roses fan, so I can’t wait to hear what the boys after over 20 years have in store for us!

I only just realised that today is Fryday…

I woke up today, got dressed and went to a chic area (Polanco) in Mexico City to see my nephews, sister and brother in law as it’s Semana Santa and not many work or have school today.

I’m the proud owner of a Lemon poster!

I’m proud to announce that I’m the happy owner of an official Lemon poster!

unnamed

I had lunch at the best curry house in Manchester (Kabana) in the Northern Quarter today, (I’ve been going there since I was a kid) and whilst I was talking to the owner I mentioned the Stone Roses and he told me he had a poster and kindly gave it to me!

It has been confirmed; The Stone Roses will be performing next June 17th and June 18th at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 9:30am G.M.T. (english time).

The Manchester quartet will also be playing at T in the Park (Scottish music festival that’s held in Kinrosshire from July 8th – 10th 2016) on July 8th – they’re the only band confirmed so far!

Excellent excuse to come back to the U.K!!!

The Stone Roses have a surprise for us!

The Stone Roses are set to make an announcement in the next few hours!

The following rumor began when posters of the famous lemon logo the band are recognized for started appearing in shop windows around Manchester (place where the band are from).

I saw this announcement on the news, and Matt was the guy that tweeted the pictures of the lemon all over town, Matt you are a LEGEND!
I saw The Stone Roses announcement on the news, and Matt was the guy that tweeted the pictures of the lemon all over town, Matt you are a LEGEND!

They could be announcing a new album, a massive festival headline slot or a tour; whatever it may be, I’m delighted!

I feel a massive connection with bands from Manchester as I’m a Manc too, and I must say, The Stone Roses are DEFINITELY in my top 5 Manchester bands list of all time.

P.s If the guys go on tour, plan a few concerts or whatever, I would recommend you to go see them as they are insane live, absolutely incredible!

Have a listen to one of my fave tracks by the boys, Waterfall!
