Karma Kid releases new track with Aminé

Sam Knowles AKA Karma Kid is a 21 year old Brit electronic dance music record producer and DJ.

I had the chance to hang out and meet Karma Kid a few months ago in Mexico when he came to DJ at a festival in Morelos.

This might sound cringe, but, apart from Sam being a really talented, passionate and hard worker, he’s really sweet and deep.

Love meeting people like that!

Check out his latest track called Thru The Tundra ft. Aminé, here!

Blast from the past (My Eurodance playlist)

I was listening to a music programme the other day and it was all about Eurodance music.

Eurodance is a genre of electronic music that originated in the late 1980’s in Europe (obviously…)!

I’m a big fan of this genre of music and it’s a massive part of who I am!

Growing up in Manchester, England, I listened to this music all the time! On MTV – when they actually played music, on the radio (shout out to Key 103!!!), on the school bus, at parties, at the shops and so on.

I decided to share a few of my fave songs of this genre, hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

(I got a bit too excited and posted a lot of songs, I know I missed out a few, but if I actually put all the 90’s tunes I listened to back then, you guys wouldn’t be going out this weekend.)

One of my faves!!!
Daft Punk – One More Time

The Scatman – Scatman John

Bomfunk MC’s – Freestyler

Vengaboys – Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!

Ian Van Dahl – Castles In The Sky

ATC – All Around The World (la la la la la la)

Next Up: National anthem in the UK in the 90’s!
Ace Of Base – All That She Wants

Snap – Rhythm Is A Dancer

Alice DJ – Better Off Alone

The Shapeshifters – Lola’s Theme

La Bouche – Be My Lover

Mr President – Coco Jambo

Next Up: This is not one of my faves, but we ALL listened to this back in the day!
Eiffel 65 – Blue (Da Ba Dee)

Moloko – Sing It Back

Modjo – Lady

Madison Avenue – Don’t Call Me Baby

Next up: Kind of annoying, but it’s a classic!
Phats & Small – Turn Around

Next up: Me personal favourite
Olive – You’re Not Alone

Rudimental release second studio album

One of the best feelings (for me) in the world is discovering new music…

I thought I had discovered Rudimental a few days ago when I heard We the Generation on the radio show I collaborate on with Jergas; thing is, whilst listening to them for quite a few hours, I realized I had heard their song Feel the Love ft. John Newman a few years ago!

Rudimental are a drum and bass band from Hackney, London.
They’ve collaborated with artists such as Alex Clare, Foxes and Emeli Sandé and were nominated for a Mercury Prize back in 2013, that same year they won the Brit and Mobo Award for Best Album (Home) and I don’t think they’re far off from winning quite a few more statues for their second album released earlier this month called We the Generation.

The name of their second album is the song I’m going to post, I hope you love it as much as I do!

Thriller rehearsals from back in 1983

Apart from Michael Jackson‘s Thriller being a well known song all over the world, the music video is immense!

The video lasts nearly14 minutes – longer than the actual song – but the choreography is something no one can ever forget.

MJ and a bunch of talented dancers and actors dressed up like zombies back in 1983, whilst the video was released at the beginning of 84′.

Thriller won many awards, and the music video (which was directed by John Landis) cost a whopping $500,000 dollars!

A very good investment in my opinion!

MJ’s famous moon walk is in the zombie dance too!

Have a look at one of the rehearsals with choreographer Michael Peters and director John Landis, here!

The story behind The Carlton Dance

Remember Carlton’s famous dance from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air?!!!

Until yesterday I realized that that dance wasn’t his, originally… But Courtney Cox’s!!!!!!!

MY LIFE IS A SHAM!!!!!!!!!!

Court is in Bruce Springsteen‘s Dancing in the Dark video and invented the moves of one of the most talked about dances of our generation, there.

Carlton once mentioned in an interview: “Courtney Cox did that dance in the Bruce Springsteen video, I just stole it.”

Have a look at Cox dance her tush off on stage with Springsteen, here!

Burning Man: The Musical (a little insight into one of the most recognized music festivals in the world)

Burning Man is a music festival that takes place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, U.S.A.

The festival actually began in San Francisco in 1986 and was originally created to showcase contemporary Mexican electronic music… Things have a changed a little over the years though.

Burning Man lasts 7 days, and the concept of the whole festival is: a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance.

The festival begins on the 30th August – 7th September this year and the lineup includes DJ’s and artists such as: Maceo Plex, Rebolledo, Nu, Damian Romero, Lovefingers and more.

I personally have never been ( I definitely need to go and will go some day…), but I have met a few people here and there that have been and the whole experience sounds insane…. It’s very laid back, people exchange everything and anything for food, cleaning items, basically, anything, but the whole vibe is very much Peace and Love. You see the randomest outfits, performances, you can expect ANYTHING! That’s what I love about it… Totally out of the box, out of the ordinary….

Have a look at the video the BM crew got together, it’s a 5 minute short musical that shows and talks about the festival.

Friday. My second favourite F word. Playlist!

Whilst some are celebrating the weekend in style, others are still at the office… But it’s Friday and I’m in a smashing mood, so I decided to put together a little playlist for y’all!

This is (in my humble opinion) the BEST playlist I’ve done so far. There’s a lot of new music and oldies but goodies too!

Have a good one, and remember, don’t drink and drive, think before you act, and have fun…. You only live once.

MGMT – Electric Feel

The Neighbourhood ft. G-Eazy – When I Get Back

Twenty One Pilots – Car Radio

Two Door Cinema Club – Something Good Can Work

m83 – Reunion

Metronomy – Heartbreaker

Spoon – The Underdog

Blackbear – idfc

Milky Chance – Flashed Junk Mind

Factuel – Stranger

Anna of the North – Sway
