Johnny Rotten may be a punk rocker, but he’s got a heart made of candy floss

John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten is best known as the lead singer of the Sex Pistols.

The Sex Pistols were huge in the late 70’s and 80’s and were known for speaking and singing their minds.

They had smash hits such as Holidays in the Sun, God Save The Queen and a famous album called Never Mind The Bollocks.

Well, Rotten was interviewed by Channel 4’s Jon Snow last year and the interview gets very deep and emotional. Goes to show that punk rockers also have feelings! 🙂

I know this interview is going to get every single one of you, have a look at it below.

Ed Sheeran launches record label called Gingerbread

English singer-songwriter and musician, Ed Sheeran has been on the radar since early 2011 when he released an independent extended play which caught the attention of Elton John and Jamie Foxx.

Since rising to fame he’s released 2 studio albums, won 2 Brit Awards in 2012, appeared on Taylor Swift‘s album Red, sang The A Team with Elton John at the Grammy’s in 2013, sold out 3 shows at Madison Square Garden, his album x won the Brit Award for British Album of the Year this year and a hell of a lot more.

Well, Ed has one more thing to add to his list, he just launched his record label and the name of it is just perfect; Gingerbread.

Jamie Lawson is the labels first singing. Ed said the following “I’m going to focus on this when I’m on tour next year. Hopefully the acts will be up and running by the time I take time off.”

The Thinking Out Loud singer said he decided to back new acts after he discovered British folk rock band Passenger (which btw released their latest song and video Travelling Alone just yesterday!).

Wishing the Gingerbread man all the best with his label and I’m sure we’ll discover a lot of talented artists very soon!

Florence and the Machine release video for St Jude

On the 29th May, Florence and the Machine‘s third album will be released in Germany.

The album is titled How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful and it’s the bands first studio album in three and a half years.

I’m a huge Florence fan! HUGE!!! Basically went to Lolla in 2012 because they were performing!

Florence Welch may only be 28 years old, but she’s a lady admired all over the world.

She launched her first album, Lungs with the band back in 2009, I’m sure you remember songs such as… Dog Days Are Over and one of my faves, You’ve Got The Love.

In 2o11 Florence and the Machine released Ceremonials with songs such as What The Water Gave Me, Never Let Me Go and Spectrum directed by LaChapelle and John Byrne.

Florence and the Machine are well known for their beautiful music, (I love how they incorporated the harp to their music) and their music videos and that’s what your going to see in their video released just yesterday!

The song is called St Jude and it’ll be featured on their upcoming album.

Have a look and listen to the video below.

Pete Doherty releases video for tribute song to Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty recently released the video for Flags of the Old Regime.

The song was written as a tribute to the late Amy Winehouse and all proceeds from the single will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation (a charity which works to discourage drug abuse in young people).

Pete and Amy had a fling or whatever you want to call it for a while back in 2008. Both were known for being into drugs and the party scene.
(Pete also dated supermodel Kate Moss for a while too!)

The video is in black and white and was filmed in Thailand where Pete was in rehab. – I recently read up on Pete, and everything seems to be going well. He’s still in Thailand and The Libertines went over and recorded their upcoming album there a few months back.

Well, Pete Doherty is also in the band The Libertines, and that’s where the song was originally released, well, on The Libs Facebook page with the following message: “really great that Peter is doing this for such a worthy cause… love, life and music helps us grow and keeps us happy. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Please buy the single when it’s available! Carl, John and Gary x”

Amazing how Pete has the support of his band and friends behind him. I’m very proud of you too, Pete!

Have a listen and look at the video here.

Watch Major Lazer’s teaser for Lean On, it’s worth it!

Ever seen Major Lazer in concert or seen a live video of his performance???
If you haven’t you MUST, and if you have, you’ll probs agree with me when I say it’s quite something!

Thomas Pentz AKA Diplo AKA Major Lazer was born back in 1978 (meaning he’s 36), in Mississippi – damn, that’s quite a word to spell out! – and currently lives in the City of Angels. He’s worked with artists such as M.I.A, No Doubt, Usher, Beyoncé and more.

Diplo has a side project apart from Major Lazer called Jack Ü alongside Skrillex which is fantastic!

But the whole point of this post is that I’d like to share something Major Lazer released a few weeks ago… It’s his latest song called Lean On on which he worked with DJ Snake and .

The video was released with the caption Official Lyric Video, and just yesterday the teaser for the official video was released and it’s GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Have a look at both the videos below! (Even though the first one is the lyric video, it’s got a lot of production to it and it’s def worth watching!)

Teaser for Lean On official video

I’d like to introduce you to All Tvvins

All Tvvins is conformed by Lar Kaye and Conor Adams – two totally different voices and musicians but form something absolutely stunning.

They just released their official video for Thank You (literally, a few hours ago) and you must watch it! You’ll see a whole new perspective to ballet dancing.

The boys will be playing at Deer Shed Festival, in North Yorkshire, U.K in July, so if you’re in the area, go have a waltz!

If you thought the video for Uptown Funk is good, you must watch this!

Uptown Funk
is a song EVERYONE has heard, regardless the genre of music you listen to, you must accept it’s an immense tune!

Well, that’s my humble opinion 🙂

Anyway, I came across this video by a guy called Carson Dean who managed to recreate the dance moves from the video, ON A TREADMILL!

Clap Clap to Carson! You sure rocked it!!!

The video has over 2 million views and I know exactly why!!!

Tame Impala release first song off third studio album

Australian psychedelic band Tame Impala have been active since 2007 but rose to fame in 2010 with their first studio album Innerspeaker.

Innerspeaker has songs such as Alter Ego, I Don’t Really Mind, and my fave Tame track, Solitude is Bliss.

F.Y.I: The band name is a reference to the impala, a medium size antelope.

I’ve seen the guys perform twice, Lollapalooza 2012 in Chicago and in Mexico City and both times I was on my tip toes with excitement.

Their music is funky, exciting and free, and their audiovisuals, phwoar… Another level!

Well they released their latest single Let It Happen last week and it’s just perfect.

Here’s a taste of Tame Impala’s third studio album (which is yet to be titled) below!

I met Dave Matthews and Steffan in Mexico City!!!

WARNING: This is going to be a long, emotional, deep post.

Music is one of the most important worldly goods in my life.

Music has gotten me through so much. Good and bad, heartbreaks, love, hope, faith, disappointments, happiness, fear, indignation, anger, friendships, respect, appreciation, confusion, and the list goes on.

I mention all this because this weekend I got the opportunity to see Dave Matthews Band perform for the first time ever in Mexico City at Vive Latino festival and at El Plaza (small venue that holds 1,600 people – petit comité).

Photo taken by me at El Plaza, Mexico City

Ahead is the story of me, and Dave Matthews Band – no, not literally with the band, but how I discovered them, and the story that goes with what DMB represents in my life.

A few years back I met a guy, I thought he was the one, you know, when you feel that connection? Well, that’s what I thought with that guy from day 1.

Anyway, we started hanging out, talking and all that and he was totally obsessed with DMB. I had no idea who they were, but once I discovered them, I fell madly in love with them too.

I’m the kind of girl that puts a song, playlist, musician, concert or anything affiliated with music to a moment and/or person and Dave Matthews Band was HIM.

All was good while it was going smoothly………….. Until the day he broke my heart (which at the time screwed me over big time, but today I am SO grateful for what he did because I realized I didn’t nor do I want a person like that to be my partner.) – Goes to say, he’s a great guy and what happened, happened, no hard feelings.

One of my fave quotes is: “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” – Notting Hill

My all time fave Dave songs are:
Crash Into Me

Dreamgirl
Where Are You Going

Boyd & Tim, Dave Matthews Band. Taken by me at Vive Latino 2015 Mexico City

Ever heard of the saying, Everything happens for a reason?

Well, I now have many stories that remind me of the band from Charlottesville, Virginia.

I met the band through a guy that broke my heart, and met another guy thanks to the band recently.

So, my story isn’t that bad at all, it’s all about the way you look at things.

Life is all about moments, “best moments happen when they’re unplanned.” – couldn’t agree more with that quote.

We shouldn’t take life so serious…. No one gets out of it alive. So live, take risks, be careful though, don’t do stupid things… Get you heart broken, cry for days on end, laugh so much you get a stomach ache, meet people, sit back and enjoy.

So to wrap the story up, DMB was him and now it is a beautiful, very exciting story, that has involved many emotions, incredible memories and a story that is just beginning….

At this very moment I’m in this mood, so here’s Oh by Dave and Tim Reynolds for you!

The only time the word OK is accepted in my life is in the song Oh:

The world is blowing up
The world is caving in
The world has lost her way again
But you are here with me
But you are here with me
Makes it ok

Forgot to mention, I met Dave and Steffan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
