Zola Jesus releases first single off her upcoming album

On October the 7th, Zola Jesus will release her fifth studio album called Taiga.

Nika, better known as Zola Jesus is only 25 and released her first album (recorded in her apartment) The Spoils back in 2009 while she was studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In 2010 she performed as a support act for Fever Ray, toured with The xx and collaborated with M83 on their hit song Intro.

I’ve been following Zola for quite a while now… Lots of memories (amazing ones, and not so cool ones…) go with her music… But,  still, I admire her a hell of a lot and think her work is fantastic.

Have a listen and look at Dangerous Days, Zola’s first single off her upcoming album

Old 45’s – Chromeo & HAIM’s collaboration

Electro-Funk dup, Chromeo from Montreal, Canada formed back in 2002 by David Macklovitch and Patrick Gemayel.

The sassy duo have played in festivals all around the world, I saw them play a few years back in a cool outdoors concert in Mexico City, and they were AWESOME!

Some of their most famous songs are Night By Night, Over Your Shoulder, When The Night Falls, Jealous (I Ain’t With It) and the list goes on….

The point I would like to get to is that the boys got together with the HAIM sisters and released and incredible song AND video called Old 45’s – from beginning to end, both the song and video are incredible, plus, Napoleon Dynamite is in it!!! <3

RANDOM FACT: Macklovitch’s younger brother is A-Trak (of Duck Sauce)

Miley Cyrus covers Babe I’m Gonna Leave You

Babe I’m Gonna Leave You was originally recorded by Joan Baez and released on her 1962 album Joan Baez in Concert, Part 1, but Led Zeppelin was the one who popularized the song in 1969 on his debut album.

Miley Cyrus is the latest artist to cover this famous song and renamed it Baby, I’m Gonna Leave You. I’ve got to hand it to her, I think she did a fantastic job… But Zeppelin killed it back in the day!

Have a look at Led’s live performance of the song in Denmark in 1969 and listen to Miley’s version of the song here.

Dance-pop duo, The Shapeshifters are from London and have been on the radar since 2004.

Simon and Max are best known for their #1 single Lola’s Theme which was inspired by Simon’s wife, Lola.

In the US they’re known as Shape:UK due to a conflict with a LA based hip-hop band, Shape Shifters. Goes to say, anything the guys release outside the US, they use their original name The Shapeshifters.
