Mark Chapman has said he is “sorry for being such an idiot” in reference to killing John Lennon

Mark David Chapman, better known as the man that killed John Lennon outside the Dakota apartment building in New York where he lived with his wife, Yoko said “I am sorry for causing that type of pain. I am sorry for such an idiot and choosing the wrong way for glory.”

John Lennon was shot 5 times on December 8th 1980 by Mark. He also shot Yoko 4 times, but she thankfully made it through.
I wasn’t born at the time of Lennon’s death but I know that the world changed after that day… John was loved by so many, he was a warrior, fought for what he believed and thought, he had “it”.

Chapman, a man that is hated by millions revealed in a 2010 hearing that he had also considered shooting talk show host Johnny Carson or actress Elizabeth Taylor but had opted to target the Beatle as he thought he was more accessible.

What can I say…?! There are some very messed up people in this world.

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one…. I hope someday you join us and the world will live as one…”

Dog Man Star will be 20 years old this year and Suede have a surprise for us

English rock band, Suede brought out their second studio album Dog Man Star 20 years ago this October. As a (good) consequence of that, they’re going to release a Dog Man Star 20th anniversary boxset on October 20th.

The boxset will include all of the b-sides that came with the album’s singles as well as DVD footage and previously unseen video interviews with the boys, memorable live performances, ‘Dog Man Star’ tour films and more!

Hits like “We Are the Pigs”, “The Wild Ones”, “New Generation” and “The Hollywood Life” were on this wonderful album.

Martin Scorsese plans to direct movie about the Ramones

Martin Scorseseplans to direct a dramatized movie about the Ramones with hopes for a 2016 release.

Scorsese has directed movies like Taxi Driver (1976), Goodfellas (1990), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004) and the film that drove us all wild last year, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). Having directed movies like those, this promises to be one of the best films of 2016.

The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in Queens, New York in 1974. The band – that everyone supposedly is a fan from hell of just because they have a $20 dollar top with their logo on – were a huge influence on the punk rock movement in both the States and the UK back in the day despite achieving only limited commercial success.

This year drummer Thomas Erdelyi (better known as Tommy Ramone), passed away, being the last original Ramone to leave this world.

St. Vincent plays a very interesting game with an interviewer at Rock En Seine’s festival

St. Vincent better known as Annie Clark is very open on talking about her musical influences, and she even got to collaborate with one of her favourite musicians, David Byrne on their joint album Love This Giant. – If you haven’t heard their album, please DO! Since the second I heard their first single Who, I fell in love with them as a duo. Plus, the video for that particular song is incredible.

David Byrne & St. Vincent – Who

The 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of August was a special weekend in France as it was Rock En Seine‘s festival and Miss Clark herself was playing a set there. French site Sourdoreille decided to play a game with her to see if she could identify songs from her biggest influences and collaborators. The video is very interesting, plus she messes up big time when the interviewer plays a song from her old band Polyphonic Spree and she tells the interviewer “You’re f*cking with me” after she doesn’t guess an Xmas song done by Sufjan Stevens.

After seeing this video, I find St. Vincent more interesting and quirky than ever before! LOVE HER!

William Shakespeare and The Beatles

William Shakespeare: Born in Statford-upon-Avon on the 26th April 1564 and passed away on the 23rd April 1616.

He was an english poet, playwright and actor and is regarded the greatest writer in the English language.

His early plays were mainly comedies and histories until writing tragedies such as:
Romeo and Juliet – “Don’t waste your love on somebody, who doesn’t value it.”
Hamlet – “To be, or not to be, that is the question.”
Macbeth – “What’s done cannot be undone.”
Othello – “For she had eyes and chose me.”
Those are a few famous lines that I love from Shakespeare’s most famous pieces of art.

I’m writing about William Shakespeare because I came across this legendary picture of The Beatles celebrating Shakespeare’s 400th Birthday in April 1964 and wanted to share it with you all.

Joy Division is more popular in Mexico City than anywhere else in the world!

Manchester Evening News posted an article according to Google trend studies which states that the Manchester band Joy Division is more popular in Mexico City than anywhere else in the world – including Manchester!

Joy Division were and english rock band formed in 1976 from Salford. The band was originally named Warsaw and the band primarily consisted of Ian Curtis (Vocals and guitar), Bernard Sumner (guitar and keyboards), Peter Hook (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Stephen Morris (drums and percussion).

The life story of the band and each of it’s members is extremely interesting, and another thing I’d like to say is, Ian Curtis’ love and passion for life and music was admiring, the way he ended his life at only 23 was extremely unfortunate and sad, but after reading so much about him, I must say, I really do admire the lad. RIP Ian Curtis.

My favourite song by Joy Division is called Disorder. Have a listen to the boys playing live in Manchester, my hometown <3
